Mongolia is marking the 80 anniversary of victory in Khalkh Gol Battle these days. On this occasion, Mongolian and Japanese monks have sit together to chant mantras in commemoration of soldiers who fell in the battle.
During the Khalkh Gol Battle /Khalkhgol soum, eastern Dornod province of Mongolia, 1939/ a total of 101 battles were held, in which 28246 soldiers and civil people died.
Despite the fact that it covered relatively small area, the Khalkh Gol Battle went down to history for a huge number of soldiers mobilized and armament utilized. It was a large battle preceding the World War II.
